SEND
We pride ourselves on catering for the needs of each individual child. We work closely with parents and make every effort to be supportive and considerate in the education and care of your child. We have a body of highly qualified and experienced teaching and support staff, who, provide a nurturing environment, in which all children can thrive and succeed.
The additional support the school offers will enable children to:
* Achieve their personal best
* Make progress towards their outcomes
* Feel valued and included
* Enjoy school!
The new SEND Code of Practice was implemented as of September 2014 and the school has revised the systems in place to ensure best practice. If you are interested in finding out further information as to what the school provides please look at the documents below.

Equalities
The Equality Act 2010 requires us to publish information that demonstrates that we have due regard for the need to:-
- Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act 2010
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it
- Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
Turnfurlong Junior School is an inclusive school where we focus on celebrating each individual and where all members of our school family are of equal worth.
We believe that the Equality Act provides a framework to support our commitment to valuing diversity, tackling discrimination, promoting equality and fostering good relationships between people. It also ensures that we continue to tackle issues of disadvantage and underachievement of different groups.
Disabled Access Information
Turnfurlong Junior School has a double storey building with steps to the upper classrooms and other teaching areas. Should you require “step free” access to the building, please enter via the main entrance to the school. This will enable you to access the main school hall where most of our assemblies, performances and meetings take place. There is a designated disabled parking bay in the car park to the left of the school’s car park by the Infant School.
Please feel free to contact the school office on 01296 489264 if you have any further queries relating to disabled access to the school.
